Since becoming a parent, I’ve learned a good nappy bag is worth its weight in gold. Nappy bags are purposefully designed with a baby in mind. This means they are generally loaded with bigger compartments, more zips and more pockets. They’re also generally made with easy to clean materials and some even come with change mats and insulated bottle pockets.

There are a few styles of nappy bags you can choose from, which you can read about in our nappy bag product and shopping guide here. However, when it comes to the best style it’s really about personal preference. I’d recommend a should style nappy bag if you don’t need intend to carry it for long periods of time. If you do plan to carry a nappy bag for an extended time and want to have your hands free, a backpack style might be more suitable (you can read our review of an excellent backpack nappy bag here).

Key takeaways after testing this product

I was really keen to test Steffi Carryall by Vanchi as it was ranked the best nappy bag in 2022 according to our surveyed parents. The first thing that caught my eye about this product is its stylish design and that you can use it well after your baby years. A lot of baby products have short life spans, so finding a product you can use for years is always a big positive and a good way to get your money’s worth.

I found this product was a decent size for carrying everything we needed when we left the house. However, you may want to check its dimensions to ensure it fits in your pram basket.

The Steffi also has a really large opening with lots of compartments and pockets. Internally it has two insulated bottle pockets and an additional four elastic pockets, so you can really organise your nappies, snacks, change of clothes, formula or whatever you’re carrying with ease. There’s also a separate compartment that you can fit your laptop, which I found super handy when taking the nappy bag to the office.

While we can try to keep things neat and organised, the reality is life with a baby gets messy. This is why I also liked that lining of the bag was water resistant and easy to clean. The lining is also a lighter colour. At first I thought this was an odd choice but the lighter colour made it easier locate stuff in the bag (compared to if the lining had been black).

The exterior of the bag is made from a beautiful vegan leather and has quite a few zip compartments and pockets. I found these good for keeping my own smalls (wallet, phone, keys) separate from all Mimi’s stuff.

I preferred not to carry this bag for long periods of time as the weight of the stuff I was carrying would eventually make my shoulder sore. For those in-between moments when I was not carrying this bag, I would store it in my pram basket.

I’d recommend the Steffi Carryall by Vanchi to anyone looking for a shoulder nappy bag that’s stylish, practical and easy to clean. However, just be warned if you fill it up to capacity it can become quite heavy over long periods of time.
