I’m always on the hunt for baby products that make life easier and to me pram caddies (aka handlebar bags) are seriously underrated. If you’re shopping for a baby for the first time, there’s always those big ticket items that get most of your attention, and let’s face it, chunk of your baby budget. But there are lesser known baby products that can really make a big difference including pram caddies.

Pram caddies are designed to keep your essentials close by when you’re out strolling with bub. As its name implies, pram caddies clip onto your pram’s handlebar. They are small bags that have just enough room to keep your wallet, phone, keys and drink bottle. They’re super handy as everything is at your fingertips and you don’t need to stop and rummage through your nappy bag when you’re strolling with bub.

You can read our super handy pram caddy shopping guide here and see which ones were voted the best by our surveyed parents in our 2022 Best Of Pram Caddies in Australia here. Included in this list was the Skip Hop Grab & Go Stroller Organiser, which I used and product tested for The Baby Edit.

Key takeaways after testing this product

I’ve always had a pram caddy attached to Mimi’s prams and I’ve used a fair few! The Skip Hop Grab & Go is your standard sized caddy that makes it really easy to access all your essentials at your fingertips.

I like the shape and size of this pram caddy. It’s not too big and really only has room for the essentials, which is good, because you don’t want to add extra weight to your handlebar as it can be a tipping hazard. (Note: Always check the weight capacity of the handlebar bag and see if your pram supplier recommends the usage of them). However, in our survey of parents who used this product some mentioned that they would have preferred if the pram caddy was a little larger.

The Grab & Go Stroller organiser I used is made of black neoprene that is machine washable in cold water. This made it really easy to maintain and keep looking fresh. This pram caddy easily attached onto your pram with Velcro straps, so it should fit all prams and strollers. However, because the straps are only 2cm wide the bag does tend to rock around a fair bit and my coffee did spill everywhere when I tested it with my KeepCup.

Internally, the bag has three sections with the two outer designed to fit a bottle (again you would want a lid on it to avoid spills). In the centre is a larger compartment, which I found had enough room for my phone, keys and snacks. Please note that there is no zip and it’s an open pouch which I felt this made it really easy to find what you were looking for. However, I know this may be a concern for some parents. It’s not a super structured caddie but at the end of the day it is all you’ll need if you’re just taking the essentials out and no semi-open drinks etc.

On the front of the caddy is zip off pouch with a wrist band, that you can use as a carry wallet with your valuables. Personally I didn’t remove it but I could imagine it might be convenient if you had to leave your pram outside when doing a daycare drop off, and could just take this zip off pouch with your valuables in it.

The Grab & Go Stroller is a really easy to use and straightforward pram caddy. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a compact solution for throwing your essentials in when you’re out and about with a pram.
